Welcome!

I am an English professor at York University, in Toronto, Canada, specializing in early modern literature and Shakespeare. My research focuses on English writing about France (and appropriations or translations of French works) in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. I’m still working on my first book, but in the meantime I have published a number of articles and reviews on related (and unrelated) topics. I am fascinated by early modern politics, cultural geography, travel, and theatre, and I love nothing more than to trace the evolution of ideas and images as they passed from one place and culture to another, or one author to another, in the early modern period.
